Trying to find an HDD among these high prices

Thread Starter

I am building a new PC and everything else is decided on but my HDD situation. Originally I was going to buy 1TB drives and raid them, but then all this flooding crap happened and I can barely afford 1 HDD.

I know the WD blacks and F3 are good picks but they are all either out of stock or in the $150 range and I am not interested in that price.

As a filler drive until this flooding craps calms down, how does this look?

Its been a while since I've purchased an HDD so I have no idea where Seagate stands anymore.
Seagate drives are fine in my opinion. I've used them in the past in production servers for NAS setups and they've been pretty reliable.

Performance and price are fine. But instead of jumping on that, I'd watch the Online Deals section and check sites like SlickDeals to see what else is out there.

This is like the only 1TB drive under $100 I can find at the moment so I think I am just going to grab it up now and buy better drives once prices return to normal.
That hard drive should be just fine. Although I prefer WD, I have had many long, long, long lasting Seagate hard drives. I say buy it!

Best Buy has some great deals compared everyone else. Just bought 2x 1TB WD Blacks for 120 a piece and 2x 2TB Seagate Barracuda for 75 a piece.
