[Yahoo] Biggest jump ever in CO2 emissions - Page 7

I agree with him though, if you live in reality you see that inflation is rising, bad weather is causing bad harvests more and more often, it's good to have a backup plan while you can still afford one.

Seeds are good if you got a place for them, which is not the case for me at the very moment. Raid my garage and I'll feed you some .308

Oh come on now, OWS is a manufactured joke. What you can do is vote! Not for the "green energy" Kool-Aid BS on the table, but for deregulation of true clean and efficient energy sources like nuclear power- which is now all but entirely safe.

Why do you need to be prepared when it does not matter what humans do to the environment? Which is it,we're changing climate conditions here or not, make up your mind!

Oh my, once again...

What happened at Chernobyl really scared people- but I believe it is no reason to write off nuclear power. The disaster at Chernobyl was due to a VERY stupid experiment that would never be conducted today- it's not even allowed!

The Chernobyl accident was caused by a steam explosion that stemmed from numerous safety systems being disabled for the experiment, and the reactor running for hours at dangerously low power pre-test due to a load on the station the experimental test was delayed for. This caused a HUGE Xenon pit. Xenon-135 being a combustible nuclear poison that the RBMK-1000 (reactor in question) had no detection system for. The poorly-designed graphite tipped control rods (graphite being a moderator) were the last nail in Chernobyls coffin- when a SCRAM (emergency shutdown) was executed the power jumped at first when all the graphite tips hit. Well, needless to say the SCRAM button was pushed when there was a HUGE Xenon pit, and much cooling water present- the resulting jump in power caused the steam explosion that blew the top of the reactor off spewing fuel and irradiated chunks of graphite everywhere. Such a scenario is LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE to recreate with a modern light-water moderated reactor.

Modern reactors are all required to be slightly under-moderated, have a negative prompt-temperature coefficient, be at least partially light-water moderated, and be enclosed in containment structures that can withstand the effects of core damage.

If you say so, then why don't you do something with the hope?

Government regulation is like micromanaging the problem, very inefficient and restrictive on private sector and innovators. However, with that being said, the presence of government is still required to provide some sort of framework for innovators, industry, and most importantly, people like you and me to work together to make a better tomorrow.

I dont have weapons for CO2, I have weapons for when FEMA or our militarized police force (thugs with guns) comes kicking down your door.

But i heard fema camps are kinda nice.

Very well said. The government should only be present to uphold the liberties that make such institutions as free market capitalism possible. When the government serves its purpose in such a manner the problems we face seem to miraculously solve themselves...

I don't really understand. You don't believe that humans can't effect the climate but you believe that they will try to put us all in FEMA camps?
