8800gts to 295gtx, small improvment? - Page 2

What Kirby said.
The minimum is a 680 watt psu, so you are playing with fire trying to power it with a 500.

That's probably not that far off normal. I have an Athlon X4 630 @ 3.5ghz, 8gb DDR3-1333, GTX295 and it scores 17637 in 3dmark06.

Normally I would recommend you give that cpu and little overclock, but with a 500w PSU that might be asking for trouble.

The 295 is still a powerful card, there's not much it can't run at 1080p and max settings. Have fun with it

never used vantage looks super old school but still low scores

Its a co op edition so should be doing at least 17k with my system specs minus the psu. But no OC'ing is probably not something I should do.

Your PSU is at the limit for that card. Should be fine with no overclock. You need to test with a GPU based benchmark.

U should be getting about 19K in vantage regardless of ur CPU. Like I said before you PSU is killing your card. Stop now.

I'm interested in seeing if there's a difference when I hook it up to a 800w next week. Fyi I have no use for the card otherwise.

Um, gtx 580 runs fine in my sig rig, thou they call for 600w and 42 amps.

Pretty sure you can set SLI on/off in the NVIDIA control panel for this card.
Make sure it's on.
