Dead Rising 2: Off the Record - Poor Performance

I'm trying to play Dead Rising 2: Off the Record but getting really bad performance. Using exactly the same settings as the original (motion blur off), but whereas the original plays smoothly at a constant 60 fps, OTR is very choppy (in the exact same locations), with an average of 30-40 fps.

Only difference graphically is that OTR seems to have an odd field of depth/fogging effect that makes distant buildings blurry and causes distant zombies to turn into gray blobs. This doesn't happen in the original, and as well as probably being the cause of the bad performance, also looks terrible.

Does anyone know how to disable this crappy field of depth/fogging effect?

Still no luck solving the problem, can't find anything with Google and no replies. Shame, because i enjoyed the original and looked forward to playing this. Don't understand why the blurb says technical improvements for a better looking, smoother game when it actually looks worse and performance is terrible. It still doesn't even support multi-GPU. You can force it to use crossfire with DIRT2 profile but that just seems to make it even slower.

Anyone else playing this?

EDIT: I think i made the mistake of not putting 'Battlefield 3' in the title wink.gif

No clue. I only played the prior titles and they ran fine. Maybe ask on the official forums. I wouldnt try and use your crossfire in game either.

I checked the forums. The problem's mentioned but no solutions.

It's a stand-alone reworking of DR2 with a different character/storyline and new areas, weapons etc., so you're basically playing the same game but whatever they've done to it makes it look worse and hits performance hard. Even on low setting (which make fogging/pop-up really bad), it still gets choppy.

Must be something that can be changed/modded or whatever.
