BF3 may be the first to show 1 GB cards as a bottleneck, but other games will surely follow.
Quite fun to watch those 2GB 6970's faceplant with 4x MSAA though

Memory quantity isn't everything. Resolution, drivers and optimizations made with aforementioned drivers make the most difference imo

Anyways, as usual, EVGA pulls another winner out :3

uhm the 460 2Win already was... it's obvious that two 560's are going to outperform a 580 by a huge bit.

In fact, two 560's in SLI equal a GTX 590 in terms of performance (in some cases, in others the 590 will perform a bit quicker between 560 sli and 570 sli).

Epic troll post. Drivers can and will be fixed, VRAM cannot. EVGA didn't pull out another winner, they crippled this card for modern and future games.

Wrong. Once you hit VRAM limit it's over and you will suffer huge performance loss (as seen in the test), this cant be denied, its a fact.

As for the HD 6970 2GB, thats like the worst comparison ever. It's an AMD card and performs totally different and its generally known that BF3 runs much better on nVidia cards.

If there was a 1GB HD 6970, it would perform worse, theres no denying, probably down in the 10-20s FPS range, because if you play VRAM demanding games then VRAM is indeed the biggest factor next to the raw performance itself.

It has the same problem as the 460 2Win - it's too expensive. To encourage users to bite, it should cost less than the price of two GTX560 Tis. I'd be more interested if this card was around $460

This thing would be perfect for an HTPC build if it didn't consume as much power as it does. Great gaming performance and HD audio pass thrrough, but sadly it needs 50A. It'd go great in a Sugo SG07/08

at 1GB per, they really shouldnt be saying this will run 3d surround on one card, because it wont. this should have been 2GB per.

evga is retarded. the 560 should have had 1.25gb, the 570 should have had 1.5GB, and the 580 should have had 2GB. AT LEAST. They should have more if they want to run 3d surround.

want to run 3d surround on one of these? dig out your old <1080p monitors, and lower the graphics... a lot.
