They have to be kidding me. We used to get better games years ago for 40-50 bucks new in stores. Now they're giving us crap like gears of war, modern warfare clones and ruining old franchises like rainbow six and they want us to pay more from them?

I have an idea, I'll just pay 10-20 bucks for an indie game that's 3 times better than any AAA game out.

Right, and we're still getting less with our games than we did when they were around 40-50.

We don't get the big awesome boxes anymore. We barely get anything we can call a manual to read while pooping. We don't get all those cool little extras anymore.

What do we get? A console ported game in a small plastic dvd box with a reference card and some obnoxious DRM.

Yay, let's give the publishers more reason to sue people for obscene amounts of money that they'll never make in their lifetime.

Oh, and bring down the DRM hammer while your at it. It's like cowbell - you can never have too much of it.

I buy one, maybe 2 new games a year and maybe some really good ones i skipped out on and have came went on sale for really cheap. Instead of complaining about sales, perhaps they should start looking into some quality control. Maybe people would be more enticed to pay for games if they were actually good and didn't have so many problems right out of the gate.

Battlefield 3 is a perfect example of this. Look at all the hoops you have to go through just to play the stupid game online.

Install origin because we dont' have enough digital distribution services running for games.

Use browser to search for games, if you can get the plug in to work right.

The whole aspect of that just pisses me the eff off. I refuse to pay a dime for that turd

You say "all the hoops" like it takes more work than finding a server for any other game. The entire system works for 99% of people, if not 100% by now, and it isn't like Origin is in the way. It launches automatically when you choose to launch the game from browser, so it's pretty much like the client isn't even there.

It doesn't take any additional work, and it actually consolidates pretty much all aspects of the game like stats, communications, and "platoon" management to a single page. I would say the system makes things easier if anything.

People just need to always have something to complain about. I could see if it was actually a pain in the buttocks to use, but it frankly isn't.

These figures are perfectly believable.

No one in my girlfriends family buys games, they pirate them (mostly DS and Wii games). My brother doesn't buy games, he pirates them (and will probably never play 95% of them).

Out of all the people I personally know, only two of them regularly purchase the games they play; myself, and I only purchase about one game a year, and only if it's under 30 dollars; and a buddy of mine with more money than sense who lives at the edge of his means and is too lazy to steal his fun.

Everyone trades/loans games. No one reads EULA, and even if they did, no one would care about the prohibitions inside.

If publishers want to make more money, they will cut prices by 60% and make DRM less annoying, or drop it entirely.
