[TE] 56% of American Gamers Don't Buy Games - Page 10

Seriously you guys, the prices of games has gone DOWN over the years. You're all just cheapskates. It take's a substantial amount of money to develop these games, and they also need to make a profit off of them. $60 a game seems like a great deal when you take into account all of the man hours and energy put into most of these games.

Those whining about game prices*

I am simply hoping this isn't further justification for DRM, and killing the used game market with things like EAs online pass- as I have already stated.

I wouldn't put everyone posting in one group like that. And games DO take a lot to produce- but not a lot to make a TON of copies and sell them all at a huge margin I think that's most peoples grief. Not mine, however, I buy all the games I want.

this isn't the cartridge area where you buy a game and someone else's saves are still on there.

buying used is saving yourself somewhere between $5-$50 usually on a game that you may or may not like.

hell i still occasionally rent games if i think i'm only going to do a play through and then shelve it.

I'm a STEAM deal kind of guy too. Bought Crysis and Crysis Warhead together for $10 last Christmas lol. Maybe if new games were $40, I'd go for them.

So everyone who ever whines about the price increase to $60 for most games...shaddup already. You should be paying over $100 for games based solely on inflation...and that completely ignores how much more you get in a game today than you did in the old days!!!
However, games were shipped on expensive cartridges and close to one hundred floppy disks. The media was expensive like flash memory. Memory was even more expensive back then..

Nowadays, games are shipped on inexpensive plastic optical discs.

Here at OCN we don't condone Piracy!
ARRRG! Yo Ho, Yo Ho, I get my games for FREE!

Don't Participate in Piracy, its bad... And don't put Linux on PS3 and put it on YouTube, because that is bad to. Also its not a good idea to Hack the Zeta Cartel...

Lol, 60$ for 8 hours of gameplay, that in reality only lasts a few days. Then they want to charge for "Horse Armor."

It's the Pirates faults! Insert Sarcasm where ever you see fit.

its the same with every single other product in existence (well aside from birth control ), why do video game companies feel they have to be special?
