Why don't you just do the smart thing - try both and see which you like more.
Chrome is better in some categories, but fails miserably in those, important to me. That is why I use IE. You should see for yourself.

The fact that more ppl on OCN like this or that, doesn't mean crap.

But ronnin426850

I already like Chrome as it syncs with everything i have but.. it's not as fast as it used to be (IMHO) getting on a bit. lol

IE9 x64 was like: BAM! there's the page!. but it'll be a bit of a hassle to not have sync'ing. ( IE x32 was a little slower, i think... just tried it yeah its a bit slower)

also this is FUN!

no-one ever talks about browsers 'cos maybe it is/was boring.. but this thread has been fun (for me anyway and I hope others)

Chrome is like a 40 year old virgin.

You know it'll be done fast, you know it hasn't got much extra to give but most of all...

It knows it's way around porn like you won't believe.

Virtually every other browser is smart like this, either natively or with a few kilobyte add-on.

no one ever talks about browsers because it turns into a flame-fest where fanboys get offended. People will never touch IE simply because it's by Microsoft, others won't touch Chrome simply because it's by Google, some won't touch FF because it's open-source and is a security risk, some won't touch any of them because they're too big to connect with the end-user so they stick with Opera or whatever, and on and on and on. Really, these threads accomplish nothing except to show what browser is the flavor of the week

@b3machi7ke

I totally agree.. except, then like the saying 'who guards the guards?'*.. who debates the pros and cons of browsers if no-one talks about it.

expansion and reduction is part of the IT community.. ?
expansion in idea and reduction in criticism (constructive).

anyhoo MS were greedy M$ for ages but got a bit better.. and Google is still friendly to me at least. and they like Linux which i also like. MS now listen to people. sooo??

sorry if that was heavy I used to blog about those things. sorry.

peace

Dava

Is there any practical-use difference between the 32- and 64-bit performance of either browser?

I mean, I've used both versions of IE, and quite honestly I have never noticed a difference--then again, I can't imagine memory allocation for a browser really mattering (especially when the 64-bit machine I'm using still only has 4GB of physical memory).

Unless there's something/other things I'm not understanding about them?

64bit doesn't have flash, which may be the performance hog, knowing Adobe's ignorance.
