You're too lazy to look for a car heatercore, but you want to make your own? A home made rad won't work as well and it will be hard to make.

really, it would be a pain to make, wouldn't cool as good and probally be more expensive, I picked my heater core up from autozone for 14 bucks.

Don't skimp out on this important part of your water cooling setup.

If your serious about making your own, I would try coiled copper tubing and make a bunch of small copper fins soldered to the tubing. Then run the tubing through a chilled water solution. Maybe ice water.

That would be expensive and require some precise calculations. Should you cool your water in the loop to much, condensation will form on the water block and tubing. This could ruin your day.

Get off yer bum and go to the auto parts store--I use a Transmission cooler (UNiversal/all aluminum/NAPA/$20) and it works great.

Dude you can get a nice clean remanufactured 77 Bonneville core from Auto Zone for $20 or probably a used one from a junkyard for $5. One He#@ of a lot easier than messing with metal tube. Nothing beats the heatercore for the price.
