Brand-spanking new PC build [i7 2700k]

Thread Starter
So, i'm really due for an upgrade PC wise. This will act as both a working computer as well as for gaming. I'm the type who's not extremely tech savvy, but still want the best.

So this is what I've put together. I'd really appreciate thoughts and comments on the parts, as I'm not 100% sure if they fit together or if they're the best choices for what I want.

Here goes:
  • Processor
    Intel® Core™ i7-2700K Processor - Socket-LGA1155, Quad Core, 3.5Ghz, 8MB, 95W, Boxed w/fan
  • Mobo
    ASUS SABERTOOTH P67 Sandy Bridge B3- ATX - LGA1155 Socket - P67 - USB 3.0, FireWire - Gigabit Ethernet - HD Audio (8-kanaler)
  • RAM
    Corsair 8GB DDR3 2000MHz (2x4) XMS3
  • SSD
OCZVertex 2 SATA II Solid State Drive 180GB
  • Harddrive
    NEED INPUT
  • Case
Lian Li PC-Z70 Miditower - Black
  • DVD
Lite-OnIHDS118-18 SATA, 18x48xDVD, SATA, Bulk, Black
  • Blueray
    LGBH10LS30 Super Multi Blue - 10X Read/Write BD-R, 16x DVD+/- Read/Write - Serial ATA - intern - 5.25" - LightScribe
  • Graphics
    ASUSENGTX590/3DIS/3GD5
  • PSU
    Corsair Professional Series Gold AX850. ATX12V 2.31/ EPS12V 2.92, AC 90-264 V, 850 W
  • CPU cooler
    NoctuaNH-U12P SE2 - CPU Cooler with 120mm Fan, For socket 754/939/940/AM2/AM2+/AM3 & 775/1155/1156/1366, Low noise

Obviously I need help on a HD, but I also need to know if the case is the best for me and/or if everything will even fit.

I'm looking for something silent and neutral (don't want blue lights and any other disco ****), and don't mind paying a little extra for it, hence the Lian Li choice.

Also need to know if the CPU cooler is a wise choice. I want this to be as silent as possible.

Suggestions are appreciated big time. Thanks guys

Im only going to comment on the case... look at the Fractal Series of cases for a quiet great looking case.

Firstly, good start.

I'm not a full on pro at all this but here's my two cents.

First and foremost I would skip out on the gtx 590, go for a gtx 580 msi oc twin frozr or something similar, cheaper and it'll give awesome performance, as well as less power consumption and a lot less heat. Using the 580 with the ax850 would give you the chance to go sli in future as well, with 590's you would be really pushing the psu if able to do it at all.
Second. Get a crucial m4, I went with ocz and regret it, after two months I've got an m4 on the way and I'm swapping them out.
Third. What do you want the hdds for? Just storage or are things like games going to be on it as well?
Last. Maybe got for some corsair vengeance ram instead, 1600mhz and you won't notice a real performance difference and you'll save a few bucks to put elsewhere

AH!

This man has no idea of what the Lian-Li goodness is about: aluminum, almost hand-crafted case, attention to details.

Don't recommend Fractal Design over Lian-Li, OP has some good tastes.

get a Sata 3 SSD... preferably an intel 510 or crucial m4 ... i'd stay away from the OCZ altogether but at least get the vertex 3 if you like OCZ

if it's in the budget i'd just get 2 580s over a single 590..
