Yeah, several have said this now, however here it's not at all half price. Not even close tbh. But anyway, i've heard about some driver issues and the two cores not being able to work in SLI, even though they're on the same card, so I guess it's 580 for me.

I fully agree with putting in another 580 down the road, which is why i'm making a final revision on the list. I'm getting the Corsair 1050W PSU, so I don't have to upgrade again when I install another 580.

Excellent revisions. Rig is going to last you a long time, my friend.

That's what I'm hoping. The E6700 I have now I bought back in '06, so here's to hoping i don't have to buy a new for at least 3 years.

Wait, is this for SLI or Tri-SLI?

I actually chose that HSF because i've heard great things, and it's supposed to be silent-ish. If you have another idea, do tell.

For now it will just run 1 580, but don't the road when I plug another in, it'll be SLI.

I realize it's a lot of wattage right now, but it'll fit later on. May as well get it now.

i would go for a cheaper case like the corsair 600t or one of their new carbide series

You could run 2 580s in SLI with a high-quality 850W Power Supply but if you'd rather just have the extra watts there to be secure, that's fair enough.

Yeah I'm debating whether to get the 850 or the bigger one. I figure, as you point out, just to be safe though.. rep
