2500K OC issue

Thread Starter
Hello OCN,

My processor is i5 2500K, my mainboard is GA-Z68X-UD4-B3 and my CPU cooler is Noctua NH-D14 w/ additional fan.
I want to achieve a stable 4.8GHz OC, however, when I'm at 4.8GHz, I get a BSOD with error number #124.
I read in this forum that if I use manual voltage control, I have to enable the C3/C6 State Support. I tried it,
but it didn't help, and yet I receive that #124 BSOD.
My current voltage is 1,445V, the CPU PLL is set to 1.7, and the LLC level is set to 6. Everything else is set to auto.

What should I do next?

Not 100% on this but I think you want to leave C3/C6 disabled for that mobo. You may also just need more Vcore. Remember, not all 2500k's OC the same and not all can do 4.8 stable. If you haven't already checked out this guide, give it a read through, should be similar to your mobo.

Also, welcome to OCN!

On my UD5 I need 1.9 PLL to keep things stable over 4.8. I also run my LLC at 7

Hmm when my CPU is at 4.8GHz, probably the CPU needs a lot of voltage, and it seems that I still got a #124 BSOD with 1.46V, CPU PLL 1.9, and LLC Level 7... I tried also with PLL 1.8, and nothing, still the same BSOD. Does anyone have an idea how should I proceed?
