Headphones

Alright so this pair is not for gaming since I already have a nice headset, but I am stuck as to which to buy. Mostly just for listening to music and such, while traveling and studying in dorm. I have done some research, no one stands out to me from the rest.
  1. Sennheiser HD 598
  2. Sennheiser HD25-1 II
  3. Audio-Technica ATHM50S

Those are the ones I've been looking at. My price range is up to about $250, but I would prefer cheaper. What do you think of them and also what others would you suggest? Thanks

What kind of music do you listen to?

As far as your selection:

1. Excellent pair.
2. Only good if you need uber-portability. Otherwise, they don't sound anywhere as good as other pairs for that price.
3. An excellent choice, but you can do better with a $250 budget (the HD598s are much better cans)

If you like Bass-heavy music, or at least want that punch, look at the Beyerdynamics DT770s. Though $5 over your budget, the AKG Q 701 are fantastic cans, but they really need an amp to come into their own.

Ill look those ones up. Thank you for the reply. I listen to a lot of rock and then dubstep, house, trance... ect.

the HD598 is open thus will leak in and out sound + unsuitable for your music taste.
The M50 is priced out of value now. the Shure SRH750DJ is a good alternative but some have comfort issues with it.

Given your music tastes, I would definitely recommend the DT770 or the DT770-Pro. They are excellent for dubstep and house, and are also closed, which will help with noise isolation while traveling and studying.
