Sempron 145 vs Celeron e3300

Thread Starter
would u say a Sempron 145, despite having only one core is faster at 3.5 GHZ and clocked to DDR3-1600 compared to a Celeron e3300 at 2.5 GHZ and DDR-800?

No

The celeron is based on the Conroe core 2 duo which did more ops/cycle then the AMDs did so the E3300 is much much faster

the dualcore celeron at 2.5ghz will beat a single core sempron at 3.5ghz on programs that utilize 2 cores (example: GTA IV)

If you manage to unlock the sempron to dual core, its gonna be an athlon II X2 and can beat even the E5700.

You are paying $54 for the celeron, and $40 for the sempron... (newegg)

So, let's add $10 to the price of the celron...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103873
AMD athlon II X2 3.2GHZ

And, I will say, I'm 2 for 2 on unlocking the second core on a sempron.

I've got a 3.1GHZ overclock +unlock core on one (Stock cooling, no voltage changes, temps at 32C load) (Stable over 48 hours of prime95, as well as other tests, person I built it for hasn't told me of any issues)

Then a 3.8GHZ Overclock + Unlock core on the other (Stock Cooling, 1.425V, Temps at 40-45C load)
*Stable for 2 months while mining bitcoin 24/7 (waste of time)
*Never turned off in the past 6 months(Except for a week while waiting for a replacement PSU... darn case combos )
*Ran a VPS for some guys on this for a few weeks, 100% CPU the whole time
*Plays mass effect 2 on mid settings, SPORE on max, and a bunch of other games well
*According to the MHASH/sec from bitcoin mining, as well as novabench 3, It performs at ~75% of the total processing power (multicore) as my AMD phenom II X4 965 3.4GHZ (Black Edition) at stock speeds. (Lmao, I bought black with no intention of overclocking)
*Used for software ranging from video editing, gimp(High res textures, often as high as 8192 X 8192 PX, Usually maps for planets and the like), 3ds max, MASTERCAM CAD/CAM software... The software runs at a great level of performance most of the time, slows down a bit on anything really crazy
*Also, Overclocked to 4722MHZ when put under dice recently - This computer is right back to the old overclocks and stock cooling, no issues. Also I've been told how to get past the barrier I hit, I'll probably reach 5GHZ next session easily.

I Absolutely LOVE the sempron line... There are OEM 130's on newegg for $30 atm, they're all the same proc, I'd buy a dozen if I could afford it.

Anyone have similarly great experiences with the Celron e3300?
