I got the 120mm PWN versions on sale from Newegg in November for my H100. They are pretty impressive, very quiet. Much quieter than these Xigmatec fans in the picture. I don't know how they stack up against the other high-end fans, but compared to the standard CM and XIG fans they are night and day. They are also much heavier, which seems like a good sign.

I see you have them mounted horizontal, are they blowing up or down in your case? I had the problem with my 120mm non-PWN version starting to make weird noises after a couple of months, and I had it blowing air up.

I was going to try to RMA it, but since I mounted it vertical and started to use it as a side door intake fan, the weird noises it was making went away.

They are pulling down through the radiator into the case for the positive pressure, cooling, etc. I plan to switch them around to push air up and out out in the near future for testing, but so far so good. What kind of noise were you getting? Was it from the fans themselves or could it have been vibration/air noise from contact with or air blowing through the grill?

This is the email I was going to send them to RMA but decided to hold off since the noise went away and I left it vertically mounted. The sound was definitely not simple vibration/noise from grill, since the fan was silent up to this point for about 3 months.

I was directed to this email through the hecgroupusa.com website regarding service for my Cougar fan which is having issues. This is originally what I tried to email at the cougar-world website for support:

My issue is that a fan that I bought less than 3 months ago from Newegg item number 35-553-001 model number CF-V12H is having issues. I arrived today from work and I began to hear a large audible rattling sound eminating from my case. Upon inspection it turns out to be the fan, the motor seems to be giving out or something else internal. I can visibly see the fins begin to fluctuate in speed and the screeching/rattling sound is unbearable. I made sure to verify it is this fan since when I disconnect it and only it the sound stops. I tried connecting it to a molex to 3-pin adapter to verify it's not something with my motherboard's 3-pin connector.

I am disappointed in this fan having issues after only 3 months when it had such great reviews since I was looking to purchase a few more for my case since I loved how silent this fan was. Hopefully I just had some bad luck and you guys can help me with a replacement unit or something as according to the store I purchased it at, it has a 1 year warranty. I've attached my original invoice and hopefully you can assist me.

I have three of these fans, and I'm using the built in 3pin controller on my Cosmos 2, but on High they sound just so amazingly loud, on medium they barely move and start making a ticking sound. Are their any PWM controllers with either more than on channel or can handle multiple fans per channel without overloading? I'm piggy backing on this thread since you all seem to be using them too.
Cool review and glad to see the positive feedback on these fans. I wonder if the NXZT Sentry LX fan controller will work with these for use with a cosmos II.

In any event incase if anyone is interested newegg are getting these in black! No images yet and currently they are charging for shipping which I am sure will change soon.[
