The sony looks like it's it.. but what about the consistent reviews on the terrible speakers? I'd hate to pay that kind of money for terrible speakers you know? Other than that it looks like that is the fit for me. I will take a peek at the HP elite books as well. I haven't checked into them as I was more focused on the Beats Envy (screen res is terrible this year).

Thanks for all of the suggestions fellas... Any weigh in on the upcomming Toshiba Z830

If you want a Mac clone, you want an Ultrabook...end of story.

Ya I get that for sure.. it's just finding one that has some pretty simple things... backlit keyboard, good screen res, well built, 250+SSD, tough to find all of these in one laptop. Seems like there are alot that are close but don't quite cut it.

I think the Vaio Z is about the best that I can find.. going to check out the Elite Book & Toshiba Z830 specs.

I really appreciate all of the feedback!!

The Z830 looks nice. I wouldn't bother with the Elitebook. If you do want a business-class laptop the T420s is the one to look at. It has no backlit keyboard, but the Thinklight illuminates the whole keyboard and a bit of space to the sides as well. Personally I like it - uses 1 LED to splash the whole keyboard vs. 84 single LEDs or however many it takes for backlit keyboards.

Honestly if it's just bad laptop speakers holding you back, consider that any $10 portable speakers are going to make any laptop speakers sound bad (and again, any $30 earbuds will make those speakers sound terrible.)

Anyways I put out the Vaio Z and Thinkpad because I'm a fanboy when it comes to laptops made with exotic materials . Carbon fiber and magnesium >>> aluminum.

You've been making these threads all week, may you stop please?

You have the Sony Vaios.
You have the Lenovo U300/U400 ultrabooks.
You have the Asus Zenbooks.
You have the Acer S3-951 series.
You have the HP Probooks/Elitebooks.
You have the Toshiba Portege series.
You have the MBP and MBA.

Now go make a decision. You don't buy light laptops for speaker quality, get yourself a pair of headphones or buy a Mac.

End of story.

Asus Zenbook 13.3" is as close as you can get to a MBA without actually buying an MBA.

Have a look: http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/21/a...k-ux31-review/
