Need help deciding

Thread Starter
Is it worth the upgrade going from a Phenom II x4 955 at 4.0ghz to a I5 2500k.

I got some cash to spend and thinking my next upgrade would be a new CPU/MB.

For motherboard I was thinking of getting http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=65...nufacture=ASUS

So by getting an i5 2500k would I see a increase in performance in first person games like Crysis2 and BF3 or would it just be a minimal upgrade?

In the short term you'd be better served by a better graphics card, but in the long term, changing your platform to that CPU and motherboard would be more beneficial.

You will most likely see big min fps jumps. You won't have big dips with SB as you do with that chip. Not sure what your 560 sli will do on the SB platform as they are mid range gpu's. It could help, definitely won't hurt!
