I know this has been all over the place 1055t OC

Thread Starter
I have a 1055t and recently I bought a nice heatsink, I want to overclock my CPU a bit to keep it at turbo clock constantly or slightly lower.

My System Specs:
ASrock870 extreme 3 mobo
AMD 1055t
8gigs of g.skill ripjaws 1333
Gigabyte Radeon 6870

I tried a small clock of 3.0 ghz from 2.8 lowered the ram a bit to meet as close as I could get it to 1333mhz

I followed some youtube tutorials like linus, but for some reason this keeps giving me the BSOD what am I doing wrong?

All you should have to do is up your FSB. You will need more voltage as well, but not with a bump from 2.8Ghz to 3.0Ghz. I'm guessing you had your FSB at 214? Try bumping up your CPU voltage a little (don't go too far, this directly impacts temps). And try loosening the timings on your RAM, and/or giving your RAM more voltage (again, be careful with voltage). I believe the stock settings on a 1055T should be VID=1.400, multiplier=14x, FSB=200Mhz. And I have no idea what the timings on your RAM are. I've sub'd the thread, so feel free to ask back if you need more help.

What cooling do you have? With stock cooling and a small voltage jump your CPU can get too hot/unstable

What kind of a cooler you had !?

Get rid of the (generic/CL9?) DDR3-1333 and get a DDR3-1600 kit. Otherwise the max you are going to be able to do is 3.6GHz. Generic RAM will easily hold a 1055T back due to the limited multipliers available for your overclocking use that do not necessarily play well with DDR3-1333 when the bus clock is set at the amount it needs to be so that the CPU multi can be set to provide for 4GHz speed. As generic RAM uses absolute low binning (there is really no binning required as it is the minimum spec and every RAM kit can run generic timings - therefore there is a high chance you get a kit that does not overclock very far past 1333) it may prevent you from simply getting there.

If your cooler can handle high volts you can set your vcore to 1.5v and ramp your OC straight up to 4GHz. Set your ram to the lowest divider until you get your CPU stable. If you get a BSOD at that raise your NB/CPU-NB/HTT voltages a little bit. Also keep your NB frequency and HT link as close to 2000MHz as you can until you get a stable CPU OC.

He's lowest divier is 400MHz (DDR800MHz) and it's 4X multiplier. If he reaches 4GHz with 286 FSB that means his ram will run on 1144MHz. He needs 1.5v to the CPU and 1.35v to the CPU NB also 1.7/1.75v to the rams and manually set ram timings like 8-8-8-22-30-2T (for the maximum stability on ram). If he passes Prime95 Small FFTs on 6~12 hours, he will start to drop his voltages till get minimum stable voltage on CPU. Remember just drop CPU voltage when you get stable CPU overclock.

uh, just a heads up if you put 1,75v on your DDR3 ram you'll fry them up in no time..

What you are talking about !? Did you see many guys are using their rams on 1.8v without any cooling (LOOOOL).
Also check your ram i think it's the worse one xD generic 1333 9-9-9-24 (if i had that ram i will run it on 1333 with 7-7-7-20-27-1T with little bit voltage increasement).
