I give all credit to Performance-PCS for the idea for this mod.
http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=3227

Things you will need for this mod:
  • A Sunbeam RHK-BA Rheobus 5.25" Bay 4 Channel 20W Fan Controller Panel. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811998808 It is currently 12.99 with free shipping.
  • Aluminum Lian Li Bezel (I used one from my Lian Li PC-A05NB)
  • Pencil
  • Masking tape/ Painters tape
  • Hammer and a Punch
  • Drill and drill bits (1/4 and 5/16)

img1663kp.th.jpg
Dissemble the fan controller by first pulling off the knobs and unscrewing the retaining nuts. Next, release the led's by spreading the plastic retainer grommets. (They pop loose very easily.) Finally remove the bolts connecting the board to the bezel. Everything should now be dissembled.
img1664m.th.jpg
Insert the original sunbeam cover inside the lian li aluminum bezel.
img1665yy.th.jpg
Make sure they are both oriented in the same direction (Facing up!) indicated by the arrow on the side of the lian li bezel.
img1668un.th.jpg
Once aligned, use your pencil to trace the inside of the original hole onto the lian li bezel. The purpose of this is to more accurately locate the center of each hole.
img1669g.th.jpg
Now draw a dot in the center of each hole, and use a punch along with a hammer to mark the bezel.
img1670ct.th.jpg
Place masking/painters tape over the front of the bezel and use a 1/4" drill bit to drill out the location for the led's. Use a 5/16" bit to drill out for the switches. (I made a mistake and used a 1/4" drill bit to drill out all eight locations the first time. Then I realized the switch holes were not large enough.
img1672h.th.jpg img1671mp.th.jpg
I used a pair of pair of pliers to remove the burs. If you place it in the hole at an angle while applying force and rotating the pliers it removes most of the burs.
img1675u.th.jpg
Put the led grommets back in the 1/4" holes and insert the fan controller into the lian li bezel. Use pliers to tighten down the nuts and replace the knobs.

You have successfully completed your DIY Lian Li Rheobus Fan Controller Mod.

This is what it looks like in my case.

I'm sorry about that. I just wanted to give a quick DIY set of instructions, in case someone was looking to do this mod. Again I don't take any credit for it. smile.gif Yours looks great!

Oh, im not mad at you one bit. I really dont care that they copied me, but it is a bit underhanded considering they are making money off of it.
