I think, you can overclock with the asus software on that motherboard. If you want to go ahead and do it manually, you have to go into BIOS and start raising the multiplier in combination with FSB, then going into windows and using a software like prime95 to stress-test the CPU. If you get a BSOD, you raise voltages (vll, vcore, etc) a bit more. and try again. The whole process is a trial an error so Don't expect stability inmediately. Your Q6700 should easily reach 3.0. I'd say even 3.6 with mid effort depending on your stock vcore voltage (use cpu-z to determine this). If stock vcore voltage is too high like 1.35, then you won't achieve the same results as a Q6700 with vcore of 1.19.

I had my old Q6600 with vid of 1.25, achieve an overclock of 4.2 stable, but temps were around 80s and that was, using a 400W TEC chip as cooling. Its a great processor, but keep an eye on the power bill . Good luck trying

check this link out, it even has pictures for you.

well, you have a low high voltage, because you can raise it up to 1.45 even 1.5 and be safe, so there's plenty of room to overclock
