8GB is fine for video.

see your using the same drive for source and render.

when your rendering do you get 100% usage on all 8 threads in task manager. or near as dam it to 100, if yes you have no issues, if you see it going up and down its a IO issue.
This is what my Task Manager has been looking like while rendering:

However, even at 47-50% CPU Useage, my temps are still at like 68-72C while rendering.

im sure these Sandys drop turbo at 80 ?.

tbh whats the codec because to me it looks like the cpu is waiting for the Write or more data.

Not sure what you mean by the first line. I know the Sandy Bridges have Turbo boost available, if that's what you mean. But that only relates to the manual overclocking of the CPU as far as I know. I never really understood the whole Turbo Boost concept; I figured it was just some Intel Media-Talk that sugarcoated the concept of Overclocking.

I'm going to make myself look stupid here, but I'm not sure how to check what the codec is. I always thought the codec just meant the output file type; which is .mp4

@badatgames18
Haha, no that's a Rabite from the old SNES game, "Secret of Mana".
(Which I plan on doing a two-player walkthrough of soon!)

your CPU at stock runs at 3.4ghz and will turbo boost up to 3.8ghz by default. what he meant was that he believes the CPU down-clocks at 80 degrees...that's completely false. it downclocks to 1.6ghz when idle as a power saving feature by default. but nevermind that.

Oh I see. That makes sense. I actually saw that feature when I was overclocking it after I first installed it; the one to disable the drop-back to 1.6ghz while idle.
(I have set everything back to default settings in the UEFI [bios] once I started getting 85-90C after the OC)
