BIOS vcore is different than cpuz! HELP

Thread Starter
i have a 2500k with p8p67 m pro board.
i oced it to 4.5ghz with vcore showing on bios: 1.280
but then when i run p95, cpuz shows 1.351.
why is that? which one is correct?

There is usually a fluctuation, or vdrop, but not by this much.

What are some of your settings? PLL to high/ultra will usually account for some of this and keep a more steady voltage.

Indeed ill try that later. I have ppl disabled.

And if I choose to run 4.5ghz at 1.35-1.40 vcore. Will it be a problem?

That's just because of Load Line Calibration. What's it set to? Ultra High or Extreme?

It is also disabled

So under load, with not LLC, your voltage goes up (substantially) wth.gif

Can you post your OC settings?

Edit: Do you have the latest CPU-Z?

You should set your LLC to control that. That's what LLC is for. LOAD LINE CALIBRATION. Usually with the Asus boards, Ultra High is what keeps it the same. High will let it drop a little and Extreme will raise it above what you set.

But with no LLC the vcore shouldn't be increasing, it should be dropping under load.

OP's voltage is increasing under load, as if he/she has set the LLC to "Extreme", which is the setting that usually overcompensates voltage under load.

Unless I'm missing something confused.gif

this^ i don't think there's a "disable llc" :thinking.gif:

There is a "Regular" option, which is the same as 0% LLC. Asus SB boards' LLC go up in 25% increments. Regular, Medium, High, Ultra High, Extreme. Usually Ultra High produces the "best" results.
