i'm working with 3dsmax and afterfx, so, every extra core makes a difference. I'm really considering paying a kidney for a E5-2650.

I was just asking a question. Not everyone uses 8 cores for the same purpose.

Just think of the PPD with 8 cores !! Here's hoping there here for IB-E.

+1 for folders who drool for 8 cores + HT. Assuming similar overclocks that would be twice the ppd of a 2600k, put two on an sr-3 and you've got 4x! Who wants to sponsor my sr-3 build

I'll utilize dual 10 core xeons

I wonder why those last two cores are disabled. Heat? Power draw? Inability to clock high? Plans to release an 8-core part in the not-so-distant future?

Pretty sure SBE is just a Native 8 core. 8 Core's on the desktop isn't needed but their will be 8 core Xeon's in January. I look forward in comparing one against an 8150

You aint going to be able to play any Xbox games on ur PC (under Win8) without virtualization...

Even AMD's $169 6-core cpu's support this. Should be standard for 64bit OS driven cpus.
