I dont understand the question... are you asking if your motherboard support a C2Q?

Welcome to OCN!

As stated, please post your complete computer specs - the ones you posted are missing some elements, such as the motherboard and the power supply, both of which are important to give you the right answer.

In theory, I'd say yes, you can install a Core 2 Quad in your motherboard even though I don't know what motherboard you have, but I do know that the Core 2 Duo E6550 uses a 1333 Mhz FSB, so there is a good chance that it is compatible with a Quad Core.

WHat do you want to do with the PC ? Is it for some computing intensive tasks ? Is it for gaming ?

If you plan to game, your specs are not up to the job. You don't have enough RAM, and the graphics card, which was entry level when it was new, is outdated. If your plan is to game, then you better think you buying a new platform altogether.

It's an excellent Media Center as it is though.
