Corsair AX-850 or HX-850? - Page 3

Neither HX nor AX, they are both overpriced. All you really need is a decent 'bronze' unit. Higher efficiency means sh|t, I mean a few bucks a year. Really not worth the price difference. Better invest that money in some component that will help your performance.

Antec HCG 900W for example, a great PSU:

But if you are really going to get any of the 2 units get cheaper one...

OP, you can convert 8-pin to 6-pin using a converter on the TPQ-850. 8 to 6-pin converters don't hurt your parts. BTW, if you notice in that link, the Vantec 1000W is exactly the same build as the BFG EX1200. It's a great unit that has three 6-pin's and three 8-pin's.

Its a matter of what is the bet for under $250 AUD that can handle SLI in the future with one 8 pin and three 6 pins so around 750-850w psu?
The best deals in both these shops are the Silverstone Strider Plus 750/850W and the Huntkey X7 900W, all three are excellent units and all three offer much better value than the Corsair units listed.. also the Antec HCP 750/850 are better deals even though slightly more expensive than the Strider Plus units from Silverstone.
