Sata 3 controller

Thread Starter
I just purchased An HP H8 1121 pc. and was wondering if i had a sata 3 controller or and if not. if not how big a deal it is to change it to a sata 3, and if everything will operate properly.
ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.. or is there anyway i can look on my computer to see what kind of controller i have.

Most likely not, but the difference isn't much, I hardly noticed it going from SATA 2 to SATA 3.

if your sequential speed will go over 250 mb/s, then you are on sata 3.

another way would be to go to your device manager, and under system devices, find the name of your controller. then let us know, and we can find out from there, or you can post a screenshot of the expanded system devices tab, if your not sure what you are looking for
