Hey guys, just wondering if i could get a bit of advice, ive recently bought a Ssd Corsair Force 60gb and i installed it fine, i went to my bios/storage configuration and switched Ide mode to Ahci Mode windows installed fine and such and my hd WEI was 7.2 Then, i had to reinstall again due to some other problem, after doing so i reran the WEI and my Hd was 6.9, THEN i checked my bios again, Advanced/onboard devices and noticed the Marvell controller was set to IDE instead of AHCI, i switched it to Ahci, and ran a benchmark, instantly noticed a hugh speed difference, my question is, do i need to install windows with both of those options set to get the best performance on my drive, or is it fine as it is? my read speed it 200m/s and my write speed is only around 60m/s on AS SSD benchmark Score it 253 up from 1xx before i switched the marvell controller to Ahci, so everything works faster, without the reinstall, but will it improve the write speed if i reinstall, or anything for that matter Appreciate your feedback.

At first you enabled AHCI on the native Intel 3Gb/s ports, and aparrently you had it on the 6Gb/s Marvell, so it did nothing. Then you enabled the AHCI on the Marvell 6GB/s ports and it was faster like you said. I would not recommend you use the Marvell ports though, they are flaky and don't usually give you full throughput of your drive. And they don't support trim.

Thanks for your feedback, as you mentioned about the port situation, i had no idea it matters, is it okay to switch it to a 3gb/s port without reinstalling any such?

Yep, you just need to select the proper port to boot from in the BIOS after.
