Maximus IV Extreme Raid broken

Thread Starter
So i just updated my bios to ver 2050 and my intel raid is broken again. Basically when the intel bios screen comes up its says that "disk 0" is a raid member and "disk 1" is not a raid member, i tried rebooting the system multiple times, tried disabling and enabling raid, tried disconnecting both drives and connecting them again... and same thing..

Tried swapping the sata connectors between both drives and now its says that "disk 0" is not a raid member and that "disk 1" is a raid member..

This is not the first time this has happened... 3 times before i had to recreate the array

any ideas?

Sounds like one of the drives hasn't been setup as part of the array. You sure your adding them correctly in the RAID ARRAY setup menu and to the correct controller? See figure below:-

Quote:
Intel® Z68 chipset : *1

4 x SATA 3Gb/s port(s), gray
Support Raid 0, 1, 5, 10

2 x SATA 6Gb/s port(s), red
JMicron® JMB362 controller : *1
2 x eSATA 3Gb/s port(s), red

I got that error on my MIVE when one of my drives was on its way out. I would reboot a few times then it was fine. One day it finally stopped being detected at all and that was that.

I don't think it's broken man. You see, typically when you update a BIOS, after the update the BIOS setting will get set to default non-RAID setting. Just set it back to RAID.

I rather you try the first choise first.

But wait a second....

I saw in the picture that the array status says FAILED. It actually sees the 2 drives but somehow the 2nd drive got corrupted & un-RAIDed. Try enterchanging the (2) drive connections.

Maybe try deleting the array and re-enabling it? As long as you don't reset the drives nothing should be lost.
