G9x any good for 1st gaming mouse ?

Thread Starter
Hiya peeps, very very new to pc gaming, Ive always used controllers with xbox & ps3 but Ive found using a M$ wired controller on my first pc venture BF3, is not good enough & Im getting owned lol. My ability is good on consoles, if not great! however, not so on PC so I need to level the playing field & teach myself to mouse & keyboard

I like the look of the G9x - is it a good starting point, too much or plain rubbish ?

Was thinking of pairing with a G110 or M$ X6 keyboard

There is no where I can test the feel locally & I have average/large hands for a 6ft 1" tall bloke wink.gif

Cheers

Lee

It's a good mouse. For large hands though, I would get a DeathAdder instead. Pretty sure Razer used a mould that allows you to cup the mouse at a store. It is bloody accurate as well. Many people will back me up on that.

ok thanks, I looked at the DA, must say I was leaning towards G9x because of weights & ability to change shell

The G9X is fantastic. I'm using it right now. It's superior to anything Razer makes these days...though, that's pretty easy to do.

It has two shells, one for larger hands, one for claw-gripping, plus weights. It's very sturdy and comfortable. I have large hands, and typically move my mice between my thumb and pinky for accuracy.

The weights are a nice feature. As the DA might be a little light to some people, but unless you like really heavy mice, the DA will not be a problem. What grip do you use? The DA is good for palm/claw. I personally use my DA in palmxclaw, palm on arch of mouse, fingers in talon shape. I tried a G700, but in the end went back to the DA.

Then again, I only tried the G9x once, but preferred the DA's shape. and how the arch fits perfectly in my palm.

I have the g9x and I paired it with the g510 keyboard. I really like the combo. The mouse feels nice, it has a good amount of features but isn't over the top. I like changing the sensitivity on the fly. I thought that was gimmicky at first, but for any shooter it's super helpful. If you go from an assault rifle to a sniper you will definitely want slower morre presise movement and th g9x really helps you nail it. The led lighting is nothing to get excited about though. It's barely noticeable. I was a little disappointed about that but oh well. The weights things are kind of gimmicky too but I actually do prefer a heavier mouse. I wasn't trying to be super precise about my mouse weight, I just threw all the heavy ones in. I also really like the mouse cable. It feels really strong and sturdy. I think you should get the g9x.

I love my G9x...I had the G5 before that and used it till it crapped out which was a long time. I guess it depends on what you play...I pretty much only play fps and it is perfect!
