PSU for 6850's in CrossfireX

Thread Starter
I'm thinking about buying another 6850 and running it in CrossfireX. The question I have is if I have the right power supply for it. Right now I have a 630W. Should I be in the clear on the right amount of power? And is there any app or service on my computer to tell me how much power I'm using right now so that I'll be able to see if I'll really be able to do my 6850's in CrossfireX?

What PSU is that? And how many amperage (A) is in +12V rail?

This is the one I have. I'm not really a tech-genius so do you think you can take a look at the link above and tell me if it'll be fine for 6850's in CrossfireX?

The PSU you have is rather subpar. Not something we'll recommend (or even suggest) in here. In 600 to 700W field, I would recommend either

Seasonic M12II 620W

OR if you are on budget, Rosewill Green 630W (the one I'm using)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...k=630W%20Green

That said, your PSU has a total of 44A in +12V rail, which is enough for 2x6850 + CPU. Don't overclock your GPU or CPU though, you'll be pushing your PSU limits. If you have funds in the future definitely replace your PSU for a quality one.

Next time post this on PSU or AMD/ATI section. AMD General is mainly for CPU.

I'm not sure about that particular one but Raidmax's PSUs are generally not that good.
The RG630 is great for the price though.

Seasonic is excellent, I have a 6850 though.

a good 600w+ PSU would be enough.
