I also heard that Mid tower is huge compared to most mid towers and is almost in the "Full Tower" class. Can anyone with one confirm this please?

Yeah, I'd say the 850W would be much more future proof

Hmm, maybe it is, but best we find out now
And maybe me calling it "silly" was a bit OTT!
But yeah, you do want a fair bit of room when running two GPUs

The Cooler Master HAF 922 is FREAKING HUGE and yeah, most will say is a almost full tower, is so heavy too, did i mention is HUGE? , i'm sure it will hold 2 GPU's no problem, oh and btw why spend $59.99 on ESET Smart Security 4.0 - 3 User?, just get Avast (like someone said) and comodo firewall and save some money
post #14 of 32
Looks good. You can upgrade to Ivy Bridge later next year if you need to. Buy it now, or you'll never buy any hardware.

Better heatsink and cheaper.
You can probably use newcustomer10 for additional bit off.

Do not by that anti virus... take that money and use it to buy a full size case or something. here is a great case you could buy with the money! AVAST is amazing its all you need with windows firewall up

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811146068

or if you really want to stick to a mid tower get something like this

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...corsair%20400r

tons of room! everything else looks good tho if you are going to crossfire i would recommend getting a 850w psu gives you head room to overclock your gpu and that beast of a processor!

Do you need a "SONY Black Blu-ray Burner SATA BWU-500S"
If you do. I hope they last longer than DVD optical drives!

Don't get me wrong. I've thought about getting one!
But, $129.99 is a lot of money for an optical drive. Unless you really need a Blu-ray Burner

I do like that 942.

Also, I may get rid of the blu-ray burner and just stick with the DVD burner.

As for the software, I do not download or torrent software. I did see a few guys talking about a free Anti Virus which will save me some cash.

Another question I had is OS. As a student I'm offered WIN 7 Pro UPGRADE. Please notice I did say upgrade and it's for 30 dollars. The only thing is, is that I don't have another windows to upgrade from. Will this upgrade work for a full install or must I still purchase the actual OS and not the upgrade?

As long as the HDD you want to install to "has had a Windows OS on it", it'll work!

I bought the Upgrade Family Pack (3 copies)! But wanted to use a new HDD in one of my Rigs!
So I installed Vista. Didn't bother with putting in my key, nor registering it!
I then did a fresh install with full format with the Windows 7 Upgrade disk

So you're pretty much saying if I install the WIN 7 upgrade once on my computer and don't register and then do another restall of it that it'll work?
