Which is better for rendering videos and playing games? I7 960 or I7 2600k?

Hi there i am going to be building a gaming rig which will also be used to record gameplay and then render it out to be uploaded. What i want to know is, which proccessor is better for this kind of thing? the I7 960 or I7 2600k??

I am wanting to run it with either 8gb or 12gb of ram and possibly a 1tb harddrive.

your oppinions please.

i7 2600k is better for both. Overclocks higher and is faster clock for clock anyways.

Yeah i dont really want to pay £500 for it so its either the I7 960 or I7 2600k
