Hey guys this may seem like a trivial question but I can't find any real method to backup the game installers. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks!

Which game are you trying to backup?

I just did a backup of Battlefield 3 'cause i was reformatting. Here's what i did.

At first I downloaded and installed BF3 at release, but I forgot to checkmark that box that said "keep installer files after installation" or something to that effect. But don't worry about it, I heard something about it not really working like that.

1.So, I found out that all you really need to do is go to "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Origin Games" that's for Win7 64-bit.

2. Backup the whole "Battlefield 3" folder.

3. Then when you want to install the game again, just place the "Battlefield 3" folder back into "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Origin Games".

4. go to Origin and it should recognize that the install files are on the computer and "Install" the game.

It seems like a crude way for backing up games compared to Steam, but this worked for BF3.

Notice that this did not backup my BF3 campaign save files, those must be located in My Documents or something. And I may not have had cloud enabled.
