Crysis 2 finally maxing (crushing?) my Q9550. Would upgrading help? - Page 2

This is all maxed, Dx11, HR, Ultra, +MLAA at 1080p, max/min around 70/40 with an 980x at 4.8GHz and 2x 6990s. This should give you and idea about the game. Don't worry about your CPU, just enjoy the game or from Ultra to High.

My max FPS is into the 80s, strange that your 6990s hit less than that. Anyway, yeah, there was ONE scene where the fps got into the 20s, like 28 according to fraps.. but that is all.

I think i'll just sit back and not worry about it. My planned upgrade is for ivy bridge or whatever has a real upgrade. that is... pci 3, usb 3 and 6 6gb/sec data ports. So sad about x79 not living up to the hype. I was ready to upgrade by the end of this month.

Perhaps Crysis 2 doesn't scale so well with multiple GPUs'. thinking.gif

You should invest on a 2500K. In Crysis 2 i dont thing a better CPU will help much.
