AMD Athlon llx4 640 vcore voltage

Thread Starter
hi,
I just bought an amd athlon llx4 640 cpu with a MSI 760gm-p33 mobo.
my cpu vcore volt is 1.43 at auto in bios.when the cpu is at 100% load at 3.0GHz (running prime95), the cpu temp is 65c(vcore 1.43).but idle at 800MHz its 25c(vcore 1.06).I have never overclocked any cpu and know little about cpu voltages.everything is set auto in BIOS.
now my questions are,
1)is this cpu vcore volt to high and cause of extra heat?
2) will reducing it manually reduce cpu temp?
3)what should be the safest vcore volt for this cpu(not overclocked)?
4)if i change vcore volt will i have to change other settings like hyper transport or RAM volt as well.

Your max cpu temp is 71'C (check your temperature with program called "Core temp"). Use prime95 download the core temp and check for temps. Report back.
1)Athlons vcore is 1.425v~1.43v (stock one)
2)Yes it will reduce cpu temp but it can make some instability.
3)Max Safe 1.55v for 7/24 usage
4)You don't need to change anything.
