And just to comfirm, the C14 is not a tower style ya? My understanding is that on a tower style, the fans are to the side...as opposed to on top of the cpu?

is it supposed to be that the fans are mounted this way? they are blowing to the mainboard

For $10 more, get a Corsair H80. Only $90 on Newegg.

Or within budget, get a H60 for $74.

Both perform better than any air cooler within your budget.

But if you have to have air, Zalman CNPS 10X Extreme is your best bet. Better than the Noctua D14.

Debatable. The D14 and Silver Arrow consistently trade blows with the H100, itself a better cooler than the H80. The C14 is only slightly beat by those two dual tower coolers in some areas and bears them in others. Source?
