Hard Drive MBR partition causing Windows 7 error

Thread Starter
Hello all,

I am trying to install Windows 7 on my first build. I am using an Asrock extreme 4 mobo and a Western Digital SATAIII WD500 HD.

On the screen to choose my storage device to install Windows I get the error message "Disk has a MBR partition table on EFI systems Windows can only be installed to GPT disks"

I have tried to format the drive and receive the error message 0x80070057.

I am so close to finishing my first build please help me!!!!

Thanks.

Are you able to delete the partition before formatting?
