XSPC RX480 question

Thread Starter
I have an i7 980x and two 580s in SLI and I was wondering will a RX480 handle it? I plan on having x8 Scythe GT1850 in push/pull configuration. What if I plan on overclocking both the CPU & the GPU?

Gear mentioned in this thread:

That will do a fine job mate.

Im running a i7 and a 580 on a 360 rad which is thinner than RX rads with GT700s in push I my load temps are 69cpu(prime) 48gpu(furmark), if I have the fans at 1850 is miles better just I cant stand the noise

I'll take your word for it I did, however, goto the XSPC official web site and sent an inquiry asking the same question. The guy who replied recommended me using the RX480 rad for the two 580s and a smaller rad for the CPU. But meh, i'll just order another smaller rad if my temps get too hot. I mean, if the radiator on the Koolance Exos-2.5 — which is inferior to the RX480 and is only a triple 120mm — can dissipate 1000w of cooling capacity, this one must be able to do the same or even more.

Why don't the manufacturers of the radiators put out an estimate number of cooling capacity in watts?

Thanks again.

I started off my sig rig with one RX480, and added an RX240 after about a month. I saw only about a 1°C difference in temps at idle and a 2-3°C difference at load. I kind of consider myself an idiot. I think the RX480 will do you just fine by itself.

EDIT: Oh, the RX480 is running push/pull gentle typhoons (of the 1850rpm variety) and the RX240 is running the same fans, push only.

This will be fine. Its recommended for 120mm rad for each cpu/gpu, so you will be good to go.
