Harddrive Issues?

Thread Starter
Hard drive is a 1tb WDD caviar black.

I was experiencing problems with booting, so I wiped my HDD (clean all, wrote all 0's) and reinstalled windows. I'm still getting errors, but they are random and varied.

Booting up my computer just now resulted in the "Disk Read Error has Occured, Press CNTRL ALT DELETE to restart."

I rebooted and then it gave me the 0xc0000e9 error, " Windows failed to load because the kernel is missing, or corrupt."

I then rebooted again, and it started up with no issues.

I ran the Western Digital Lifeguard program, and it passed all the tests.

Ran Chkdsk, these are the results.

Shutdown PC then check power and data connection to and from the hard drive. If check disk didn't find error, it could be the connection or bad data cable.

Please fill this, will be easier to see what you are working with http://www.overclock.net/specs.php?do=addsystem

Thanks for responding.

I updated my specs.

I switched the HDD to a different port on the motherboard, and it has booted fine for the last couple hours.

Thanks!

I plugged my DVD drive into the SATA port that the harddrive was in, and it works fine.
