ffdshow causing BSOD and player problems

Thread Starter
I usually hate installing ffdshow and other things except only when I need it. I needed to use BDRebuilder and ffdshow was required.

I usually use PotPlayer and VLC to watch videos. Now once I installed ffdshow and let BDRebuilder "automatically configure ffdshow for use with BDRebuilder" there were problems.

PotPlayer now ceases to play videos. It will open once I click a movie, but then ceases to load the movie and the display driver crashes. If I try it once more I get a BSOD.

VLC player loads the videos, but they are very stutter-like with a ton of judder and some artifacts; unwatchable.

I initially though this was a cause of me updating to Catalyst 11.10 drivers, but I rolled them back and it wasn't. This only started happening after I installed ffdshow about an hour ago.

Any idea of what I should change so the videos will play fine or how I can just neglect these two programs from ffdshow use?

Remove the other codecs before you install ffdshow. Use only ffdshow with other codecs uninstalled.
