In the market for a new headset

Thread Starter
Title says it all guys.
I've been using my Turtle Beach X11 (which is for my xbox) on my PC for about a year and a half, and I'm looking to get a headset just for my PC and keep that one for the xbox.

Here's the things I would like it to have:
1. Attached mic, as in no clip on mics
2. 7.1 virtual surround for games but still good for listening to music
3. Closed headphones if possible.

My mate has a Razer Megalodon and he raves about it, would that be a good choice?

Cheers.

I like my Roccat Kave quite a bit. It can utilize virtual 7.1 if your sound card has it, but I do think it has true 5.1. It's also closed, has a detachable mic (but not one that clips. It stays on for me unless I yank it out), it has a small equalizer on the cord, and it's very comfortable.

I have it paired with an HT|Omega Claro Plus+. heart.gif

Hope I helped. thumb.gif

(You can usually find it at medusa-usa.com, however that site it currently down for maintenance.)

I just picked up a SteelSeries 7H. It meets all of your criteria.

It has USB 7.1 Surround and is excellent for both gaming AND music (go figure!).

They're very comfortable, good build quality, and a decent headset.

Reviving the thread, my budget is about $200.

I have been looking around and I quite like the megalodon. People say that it has the same sound quality as the G35, however it is a bit more comfortable.

Then I stumbled across the Razer Tiamat, which is yet to be released. It's the 10 speaker one. Just wondering what an audiophile's view on this is. Would it be much better than a megalodon, especially since I would have to buy a dedicated sound card for it, which would already put me over my budget?
