Stock or TG-2 thermal compound. Phenom II 955

Hi all. First of all I want to apologize for my noobness and my not-so-good english. This is my first post, but I've been checking this forum for months, and I've read lot's of good information. This is a really great community.

I'm going to build a PC for the first time, really really soon, I have all the parts already with me, I'm just waiting for the case. I bought a Phenom II x4 955 and Thermaltake TG-2 thermal grease (I hope someone have experience with it). I was just wondering, as I'm so noob in this, would it be better to leave the stock thermal grease on, or it would be better for me to replace it with TG-2?

And a little out of the topic, in Tom's hardware, they overclocked the phenom II x4 955 up to 3.8Ghz undervolting, and they even dropped temperature 1 or 2 degrees. Do you think that is actually possible, or they just got lucky, or they didn't run prime95 for enough time? I would like to do a small overclock with the stock fan.

Thanks!

Yes, This is possible Use the TG-2 in the BB method on the stock cooler and remove the thermal paste with high purity alcohol 91%. that stock stuff is very sticky.

DO NOT TRY TO SPREAD THE TM WITH A CREDIT CARD.

DO this.

Hey, thanks for your quick answer. I actually thought I was going to do it with the credit card, oops . Right, so I just put a dot on it and then without spreading, I put the heatsink right? I have 70% alcohol Would that work? Or should I use Acetone instead? Thanks for your answer. I really appreciate it
