Thread Starter
Hey guys i have been trying to solve this for a loooong time and i just cant

Every time I run a game on windows 7 64 bit I can play about 10 to 20 mins then it crashes ie windows must close this program

I thought maybe a driver issue, updated everything
tested ram
switched ram
tested video cards and cpu for overheating
psu is good

as far as I can tell everything checks out

Ram timings are stock 5-5-5-18 2t

***.

and now I installed bf3 and after 20 mins MY COMPUTER RESTARTS! RANDOMLY

Begging for help

If it just randomly restarts, no bsod, i'm pointing towards a bad PSU

Well, I would have assumed maybe something is wrong with the hard drive? Might not be since it restarts. Have you tried doing a refreshed install of the OS?

Start by disabling everything that isn't absolutely necessary to run the PC, don't let anything unnecessary start with Windows, including any antivirus, and see if the problem still exists.

Have a spare known good drive? Throw windows on it and install one of your games that's freezing and try it.

If you don't mind me asking how did you test the cpu and gpu for over heating?

Only thing left to test is HDD. Do you have any others to test with?

Swap your gpu's places with eachother. 2-1st slot and 1-2nd slot

I do not have another drive to test

the psu is not the problem, my old psu went bad and replaced it with this both psu's have the same result

One thing worth mentioning is when i turned off the computer and unplugged it then started it back up and immediately went into game, it worked for like 45 mins and I exited, no crash :\\ but then restart the computer w/o powering it down and crash

THIS
MAKES
NO
SENSE

The only thing I can think to do is fresh install of windows which ill do when my new mobo gets here in a couple days

How exactly do u stop programs from opening on start up?
