Password the OCN server

who else thinks the OCN BF3 server should be password protected for only OCN members? just played a match where some random jackass was letting us get owned by aircraft because he wanted to cap flags in the mobile AA. I know the server population would be horrible but I think we should password protect the OCN server. and give the password out in a thread guest would still get it becasue there are plenty of people that read this forum that are not members but it would help alot with keeping the jackasses out.

Eh, not necessary. The people messing around and not contributing will probably just end up being banned from the server by a gameserver moderator.

I think that would be a good idea at least to try out and see how it goes. If not that, then making it a 64 man would be good. I'd seriously never get off it if that happened.

i agree it needs to be a 64 player server but it also needs to have a password to filter out the crap

How are you getting owned by aircraft as a ground troops? Most of the weapons in the jets are weaksauce against group troops.

Sounds like you're just mad that you didn't get the mobile AA and you didn't cap flags before the other guy.

I am not sure that I see where you are completely coming from on this.

I understand why you want the password on the server, but then when you say to post it in a public area, what difference would it make for anyone to join the server or not, if they were hacking, if they were "asses", etc?

Second, if we did password protect the server, then that is just another hurdle that legitimate people that want to play on our server, have to deal with.

Third, I feel like this would be detrimental to player traffic, not help exceed the traffic.

Ultimately, the game has not matured enough for rcon tools, plugins, mods, etc to really come out and shine. We were able to handle hacking and team killers, fairly well with BC2, however, that game had been out for quite some time. Later in the future, or when the servers are active 24 hours a day, we will look into this.

No need for password protect. But an EU based server would be nice. 120 pings however are not.

Also, Conquest large server 64 player would be nice. I'm not sure most OCN players use the ocn tag either. Difficult to recongize
