question regarding new z68 build

Thread Starter
I wanted to wait and see if any great deals can be had on a video card later this month but im getting antsy and wanna pull the trigger on the items in my sig build.

I just wanted to make sure Ill be able boot up and install win7 in the mean time.

I'm assuming yes since the ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 has video outputs but wanted to ask the experts to make sure

Also have I done anything really stupid in selecting these items? take a glance and let me know

I can't say I'm an expert but I'd have to say yes that mobo should work without a video card. One of the major advantages of Z68 over P67 is onboard video and since it has dvi/hdmi hook ups I can't see why it wouldn't work. And everything looks good in your sig, I'm not sure about the PSU though as all I know are Corsair and Seasonic.

It will work without a Video Card, one of the beauties of Z68, you can use your system whilst saving up for decent GPU.

thanks for the quick replies mhill and blazed, I appreciate your input. I read a few reviews on this psu and didnt see anything bad. I figured it was a killer deal for $67.

one more question though, If i plan on putting more ram in would I have to get Identical sticks? or could I add two 4GB sticks?

I think it's best to stick with identical sticks, especially if you're going to overclock at all. If you're just gaming/web browsing 4GB should be plenty.

Actually, since 8gb RAM is so cheap nowadays, I would get an 8gb kit. It should only be around $50 more.

True but why buy something you don't need? It's like getting a 2600k, disabling hyper threading, and not overclocking (yes that's a bit of an exaggeration but you get the point ).
