SSD - Solide State Drive, it is best used as your boot drive (running windows for example) they startup much quicker than HDD's, then your other drive/s can be used for storage (music, files, pictures etc). The solid state drives tend to have less problems so less chances of boot up problems etc, nothing worse than a corrupt harddrive! it has no moving parts over the Hard disk drives and theorectically less to go wrong and a longer shelf life. The down side is they tend to cost more, but saying that a 60GB+ is fine for running the OS.
If your spending the money you would want to id would reccomend one.

SSD is a hard drive for containing your files, although it works like ram, or pendrive, or memory cards. It is much faster than the current HDDs, and noiseless. Athough it costs a lot more, and has less lifetime.

More information about them here: HDD , SSD

Edit: damn you ninja.

SSD=solid state drive...(basically in very dumb down trerms its a harddrive that has no moving parts, it uses flash memory to store data, kinda like a usb flash drive.) Crazy fast compaired to most traditional harddrives

ssd(solid state drive) a new technology for hard drives. it doesn't contain any mechanical parts like motor or disk like the conventional hd. it performs faster especially when connected to a SATA 3 port. usually it is use as a drive for OS only since SSD comes with low memory but in a higher price compared to HDD.

You will not need 16 GB of ram unless you are video encoding. AMDrocks's parts a good, I would go with a HAF too though.. case is personal preference.
And SSd has fast read fast right and VERY VERY good random read/write speeds, Which means it will cut your boot times and time to start up applications. Seeing they are very small in capacity you store multimedia on hardrives.

got ninjad

Is this a troll or are people this rude?
