Is it plugged into the sata 6gb port?
Are you using a 6gb sata cable?
Are the settings correct in bios?

1. That is normal.

2. Use ATTO, also don't use the sata 3 ports on that board, they are crap.

Make sure your plugged into the grey ports and you have them set to AHCI in the bios.

Also use ATTO.

...

You don't need a "6Gb/s" cable. Anything sata 2 spec will work just as well. The difference is in the interface itself.

i heard something about the SATA 3 ports not being up to scratch on this board (as well as the premium version) so im stuck with my SSD not performing at 100% until i get a new board? ..

sure, have done...

so do you get the same read writes with that benchmark or is your controller on your board taking full advantage of the force 3

Sata 2 is good enough, I really see no difference b/w sata 2 and 3 on a daily basis. I had the ASUS P6X58D-Premium before this rig and I would never consider those stupid Marvel ports again after dealing with them.
