Email forwarding issue - Page 2

Thread Starter
From FB:

"Your Other folder contains messages sent to mailing lists and broad distribution groups, along with messages from people who aren’t friends or friends of friends."

So, because it is from an email, it is moved to the other folder. If I move an email to the normal inbox, any subsequent messages from the same sender will also go into the normal indox.

I assume my only solution would be to have the forwarding set up so the emails appear to be sent from my normal gmail, rather than the original sender. I was wondering if any email client would allow me to do this.

Cheers

Oh certainly. In Outlook you can have the 'server' in this case, Outlook, send an email to FB which you can then use to trigger the SMS alert. Its possible that others do as well. Outlook Express is free as is Thunderbird (from Mozilla, Firefox people) and many others. In fact, i forgot, Outlook will also send an alert to your mobile device as well. I dont use this feature since i can get emails on my phone.

Does your provider block the incoming/outgoing ports (110 incoming, 25 outgoing) or just doesnt have a provider email account? Do you have a data plan on your phone?

If youre interested in running your own mail server, i use hMailServer (free, and works GREAT) and has many features. I dont know if it has this feature youre wanting, but just letting you know in case you want to look into it later on.
