Finally decided to try and OC my I5 2500k.

Thread Starter
Here is what I got to work with:

CPU: I5 2500k

CPU cooler: Cooler master hyper 212 (With IC diamond 7).

Motherboard: Gigabyte Z68 UD4-B3 Touch bios.

Case: Lian Li PC-A70F full tower.

First of all, my idle temps are very, very low, and even under load the above cooler seems to be working very well overall. This PC is about 3 months old, and was waiting to let things get broken in before stressing it too hard.

I plan on trying to OC to 4.5 GHZ.

Any information needed to help me do that with the above setup is appreciated. I know others have gotten 4.5 GHZ stable with that cooler.

Also I need to know the risks involved in doing this, if any apply to keep me from frying my CPU.

I'm a complete noob at overclocking. I heard its possible to use the Touch Bios with my motherboard to get the desired results.

I would highly recommend visiting my thread, the sandy stable club (link is in my sig). If you read the OP and the guides posted you'll soon be on your way to overclocking, first and foremost, reasearch and read and you'll get the hang of it.
