XFX 6970 Xfire or MSI GTX 560Ti Twin Frozr II OC SLi?

Hi There,

A vendor I work with recently contacted me about a deal he's got on two XFX HD 6970's and I'm debating whether or not I should snag them. I built a new machine recently and at the time I didn't have money for two GTX 580's and therefore opted for 2x GTX 560 TI's (also another deal). I'm an avid gamer who plays anything and everything, so any advice you can offer would be great.

Here are my current system specs:

Case - Corsair 600t Special Edition
PSU - Corsair AX1200 Gold
Mobo - ASUS R.O.G. Maximum IV Extreme
CPU - Intel i7 2700K overclocked to 4.8GHz
CPU Cooler - Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro
Mem - Corsair Dominator GT 1866MHz 8GB
Video - 2x MSI GTX 560Ti Twin Frozr II OC Editions in SLi
HDD - 2x Corsair Force 3 120GB in Raid 0
Storage HDD - 2x WD Caviar Black Editions 750GB

Thanks for any and all assistance =D

Personally I would go with the XFX 6970 cf....What kind of monitor are you gaming on?

I have had both setups. Those exact setups. 2 xfx 6970's and a 560ti TFII + a 560ti Hawk. Run, don't walk, and get the 6970's. They are far, far superior. Yes, that vram matters. Even single monitor 1080. I made a serious mistake getting rid of my 6970's. I really regret it.

I would do it. That 2GB of VRAM is going to be pretty useful. My 570 does great in BF3 but the VRAM is nearly maxed out all the time.

Thanks a lot for the advice, I've made the decision to get the 6970's. Even though he has another great deal for me on an Asus GTX 580 Matrix, it's too big and bulky for my taste and the price/performance ratio doesn't really compare to that of the two 6970's - at least from what I've read.

I just got off the phone with my vendor and he's got one more deal for me...

Option 1: MSI GTX 560Ti Twin Frozr II OC Editions in SLI (current setup)
Option 2: XFX HD 6970 in CrossFire ($300 each)
Option 3: Asus GTX 580 Matrix ($556)
Option 4: XFX HD 6990 ($600)

I have the power supply and the room for the 6990 and my vendor recommends I take this option as it will be more "future proof" - but what do you think? What would you do and why...?

Either the 6970s or 6990.... would recommend the 6970s TBH...if the 6990 has a issue you have to send for a rma and have no GPU at all...if one 6970 has a issue...you still have another to game on till your other comes back from RMA
